Departmental activities of the club –
​
FOOTBALL –
It is one of the most popular, glorious and happening wing of our club. Many famous players of our country namely Sri Mrityonjoy Banerjee, Himangshu Chaterjee, Biman Lahiri, Dulal Sarkar, Sandip Sarkar etc. played in our club for several years. Every year our club wins several tournaments organised by reputed clubs all over the state. We have our professional coach to train the players ( Total – 30 ) throughout the year. Among them 6 – 7 players regularly play in Premiere Division Clubs like Peerless, Railway F.C, etc., of Calcutta Football League organised by IFA. Our football team plays in Super Division of S.S.S.A and stands among 1st to 5th place. An academy of sub – junior football coaching camp started with 20 players.
S.S.S.A – League Champion – 8 times.
(Our team had won this title for 2 years in a row now,
viz,. season 2018-19 and 2019-20.)

Our football team had won the Hooghly District championship in the year 2016.
Participated various tournaments throughout Bengal. Practice is done under recognized football coach throughout the year.

VOLLEYBALL –
This is our biggest wing and about 200 players on various groups like mini, sub – junior, junior, and senior are regularly playing for our club in different age-group competition of H.D.V.A – Hooghly & W.B.V.A. We participate in Boys and girls’ division on a regular basis. Our players are being trained by professional and amateur coaches throughout the year in our own complex. It is noteworthy to mention the contribution of Late Alok Kumar Sur in the field of training players and unleashing the potentials within them. Many of our player participated in national championship for West Bengal Many famous players like Sri Suddin Sur, Sri Partha Das, Smt. Ratna Banerjee, Smt. Soma Das(Ghosh), Smt. Reshmi Mitra, Smt. Shraboni Biswas, Smt. Dipali Sur, Smt. Shraboni Sarkar, Smt. Mili Dholey, Miss Madhurima Kaur played in our club for several years. Disha Ghosh, Anupam Dutta etc., are some of the shining stars of our club.
Our club is one of the pioneers of District as well as West Bengal that provide many national players from West Bengal.
Our senior boys’ and girls’ team had won the Hooghly District Volleyball League Championship 33 and 12 times respectively.
At the knock out stage of H.D.V.A our boys’ and girls’ team had won 22 and 10 times and it is worthy of mention that our club holds a record for 7 times winner of the Senior Men Volleyball at a stretch.
A temporary lighting has been set up in our Mini Indoor Stadium.
Our club’s executive member and ex – national volleyball player ‘Sri Partha Das’ was assigned as the assistant coach of the under – 19 Women Volleyball team ( Team India) for the under – 19 Asian Volleyball Tournament held in Vietnam from 10th to 17th June 2018.
Our volleyball player ‘Disha Ghosh’ played in under – 17 Indian volleyball team (Women ) in East Asian Volleyball Tournament held at Bangkok and Thailand from 13th to 17th May 2018.

As we are very famous club in the area and reaches to people of every remote corner of the state through our activities including sports and social services as well as have ambition to flourish as bigger not only in the district but also in every nook & corner of the state. We can jointly go a long way maintaining each others respect, interest and ambition to discover a whole new world.

HISTORY OF THE CLUB:-
The history of the club dates back to the year 1933, when a football club "XI Bullets Club" and in 1948 another football club "Agragami Sangha" came into existence. With the passing of year Cricket, Hockey, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis were added to it. In 1953 Athletic Sports was stated. The club was soon affiliated with Serampore Sub-Divisional Sports Association (SSSA) and then with Hooghly District Volleyball Association (HDVA).

The idea of unification of two organisations took shape in 1957 when they were merged into one unit. the new name UNITED ATHLETIC CLUB replaced the old two names. its was decided at the time unification that 1933, when XI Bullets Club came into being, would be taken as the foundation year of the club.
​
During the long journey of 85 years we have successfully organised a number of National and States meet. This was came in limelight when 2nd Mini National Volleyball Championship (Boys and Girls) in the year 1977 was organised by our club under the auspices of All India Volleyball Foundation and West Bengal Volleyball Association. We fell proud to say that Bhadreswar is a small rural area in the Hooghly District, about 30kms far from Kolkata, you will see a spectacular display of our national variety. The warm welcome from the organizers and local people will etch your memory for a long time and you will be relieved to realize that our integrity and nationalism is not at all in the doldrums at least not in the playing field.

CRICKET –
We have our cricket academy running with about 40 players being coached under professional coaches. We participate regularly in S.S.S.A Championship and for other tournaments. Our club participates in different age group competitions of CAB.
​
TABLE TENNIS –
A new Table Tennis room was made by our club on the 1st floor of our sports complex building where 20 players ( including both Boys and Girls ) are playing throughout the year under the guidance of reputed coaches.
Players’ dedication and coach’s real guidance are driving them towards a good career and we are expecting a bright future from them.
The players participate in various tournaments organised by W.B.T.T.A.

ATHLETICS –
Our athletes regularly participate in the Annual Sports Meet organised by S.S.S.A.

HOCKEY –
We participate in the hockey leagues organised by S.S.S.A.
CULTURAL –
We organised cultural programme every year on auspicious occasions with our club members and general public with great anticipation. We also celebrate with regards the important days of our nation like republic day, Independence day etc., as also the birthday of noble persons of our country.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES –
​
The United Athletic Club is one of the clubs still holding it’s extra ordinary tradition in the arena of sports & games, culture and other social activities with modern outlook. Keeping the harmony with the heritage of our club I do like to record a few words for our achievement.

Our club library has become the most reputed Library in Hooghly District and is named as ‘ United Athletic Club Town Library ,’ for which we purchased the land and handed over the same to the State Government for betterment of the society. It is now an asset of local people mainly students.

1st floor of our shopping complex has been handed over to Rotary Club Chandannagore for Medical Check up, X-ray, pathological test with a minimum price for the weaker section of the society. Free consultancy and subsidized X-ray, diagnostic centre and eye testing have been running for last two decades.

24*7 Ambulance Service at a minimum price is available for all section of our society on their requirement. The ambulance was donated by Sri Samarendra Nath Sur and Smt. Abira Sur in the loving memory of their daughter Late Nabanita Sur.

DREAM –
​
Our dream for Indoor Stadium is now turning into reality as ‘United Athletic Club Sports Complex.’ With the help of club members, sports loving people of the locality ( by donation) we have purchased the land for the complex.
It is a vast work and about half of the complex has been done. But a huge work for other facilities of sports complex like the drainage system of total ground, Multi-gym, players’ room, gallery, and electric arrangements are still pending. We hope with the help of Central Govt. & State Govt. and with the help of local people and the indefatigable efforts of the club members our dream will come true.
